In a game featuring the two worst pass defenses in the league we could see a high scoring affair. Then again, we could see two statistically improved pass defenses. The Skins have given up big yardage to some middle of the road Quarterbacks, so this could be Freeman’s first big game of the year. If he can avoid the turnovers he should be able to connect with Vincent Jackson and Mike WIlliams in this porous secondary. Keep in mind that both Orakpo and Kerrigan are out for the year, so the pass rush should be pretty weak.
The Skins are picking some reinforcements for this game though. Brandon Meriweather is expected to make his debut at Safety this week. He was great a few years ago with New England, but has since really fallen off the map. He has the talent to play well, but coming back from a sprained MCL, I don’t expect him to solve the Skins defensive woes. A bigger addition is Pierre Garcon who is expected back for this game. He connected extremely well with Griffin in the first week, but has yet to play since. He is likely to play, but should be limited in his snap count. Still, this is welcome news for Washington facing the worst pass defense in the league.
The game is at Raymond James Stadium at 4:25 on FOX.
