Jeff Faine: Morris didn’t have the Right Style

Jeff Faine, who was the Buccaneers starting Center for the past four-season prior to being released as a result of the Buccaneers youth movement, fully understands why he was released, and doesn’t believe Raheem Morris was the appropriate coach for the young Buccaneers team last season. Faine told WQYK-AM that the coaching style used by Morris wasn’t suited for a young team, but believes he will coach again and endorsed Raheem Morris for a more experienced, and veteran team.

If Jeff Faine’s belief was also shared by the Buccaneers management, the hiring of Greg Schiano makes perfect sense. Schiano put Rutgers football back on the map after his first season as head coach, but he didn’t have the necessary resources to take the program to the next level. Schiano will come to the Buccaneers as a young coach with no experience, but will have all the resources necessary as he attempts to restore Buccaneer pride and develop the young team into a team of rising stars with hopes of contending for another Super Bowl.
