Ahoy matees! Welcome to the Buccaneers 360 blog. My name is Chris Caruso and I will be blogging about everything Tampa Bay Bucs related for the 2011-2012 season. The Bucs come in off a strong 10 win season in which they missed the Playoffs because the Saints won the division. QB Josh Freeman made big strides towards becoming a solid NFL starter and leader. Opening week will match them up against another up and coming team in the Detroit Lions. Youth is served on both of these rosters with impact players such as DT Ndamakong Suh on the Lions, and RB LeGarrett Blount of the Bucs being looked at as bigtime breakout stars. I see the Buccaneers as a strong playoff contender, probably as a wildcard team. The key to being a playoff team, is winning your home games. The Lions will be tough but I believe as long as Tampa’s O-line can stand up to the rush, Josh Freeman will pick up big gains through the air. Stopping the duo of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson is another story all together. The Bucs will need to contain the explosive wideout however they can, because if turned loose he can ruin a game. I see a close fought game with the decision going to the Bucs, lets say 24-17. Happy NFL season everyone, enjoy the games. Follow me on twitter @chriscaruso3 for continuos sports chatter of all types.
